Wu-Tang Yoga with Tara Murphy
Wu Tang Yoga is the marriage of philosophies incorporating a reading and brief discussion from "The Tao of Wu" by Rza and a juicy 1 hour Hatha Flow practice, set to all your favorite hip hop tracks. All levels welcome. Only 15$ for non existing students!
This is an essential connection, a way to teach about intelligent hip hop music and how it can relate to students receiving the benefits of yoga, physically, mentally and emotionally. Consider the gap being bridged!
Dana Rivkin offers breath focused, fluid movement yoga classes with alignment cues that explore, anatomy, personal development and playful discovery of the self. She asks her students to slow down, breathe, listen and feel.
Dana believes that yoga is a life-long study on and off that mat; one that can be practiced in a studio, at home, in the classroom, on an adventure, while dancing, at work....all the time. Her passion for this practice comes from the connection it brings to herself, to others and to nature. She hopes to share this connection through her teachings.
My name is Monica Fine. I am a certified natural perfumer, Aveda trained licensed aesthetician, professional distiller, remedy maker, and skin care formulator. I understudy with the legendary Jeanne Rose, and you can too (www.jeannerose.net). This is a serious medicine, and a magical journey. In my 5 gallon copper stilI, within a few hours we can extract the aromatic waters for a variety of uses. In this forested area of Northern California Redwoods, Douglas Fir, and Pine trees perfume the river. After an hour's walk gathering needles and cones they are placed into the copper still, filled with water, and let to soak over night. The next day, we distill the needles and out comes a wonderful smelling aromatic water. We will bottle it as it comes out, and distribute the bottles to patrons as a useful reminder of their unique experience at Raindance.
We will talk about the basic principles of responsible aromatherapy, and how to use the hydrosol.
